Well, we all need to have a daily skin care regimen to keep our skin looking it’s best. For each skin type we recommend a basic CTM routine (a three step process that consists of a daily cleanser, a nice light toner and a good quality moisturizer). Needless to say, these are the three most crucial steps for maintaining and caring for your face-skin’s natural moisture and suppleness.
Finding a toner, which suits your skin is indeed a daunted task because most of the toners available in the market are brimming with all sorts of alcohols and other chemicals. Although, there are some alcohol – free ones too, but either most of them are too expensive or it’s hard to know which one to trust.
Lately, the people have started relying less on store bought products and more on the good old homemade remedies. Really, what’s there to lose? With that in mind, I’m going to share with you this homemade basil toner recipe that is perfect for all skin types and won’t pinch a hole in your wallet. It just needs basil leaves and easy to make at home.
Benefits Of Basil For Skin
The herb basil has always been known for its detoxifying properties. It is full of mild antibacterial compounds and following are its skin benefits.
(i) Helps battle acne-prone skin
(ii) Fades dark spots
(iii) Soothes skin
(v) Helps to heal fine lines

(vii) Unclogs pores
How To Make Basic Basil Skin Toner?
You will need:
(i) Basil: 3 tablespoons of dried basil leaves or a handful of fresh basil leaves
(ii) Boiling Water: 1 cup
(i) Combine the basil leaves with half cup of boiling water and blend on high speed until smooth. Transfer the mixture into a glass container and add in the remaining boiling water.
(ii) Cover and let the basil steep until the water reaches room temperature. This will probably take around 20 to 30 minutes in total. This allows all the basil to release its natural oils in to the water for maximum benefit. When through, use a fine-mesh strainer to strain out basil and pour the remaining potent green color water into a glass bottle of your choice.
(iii) To use, moisten a cotton pad with the toner and sweep in upward motions on your face after cleansing in the morning and evening.
