  1. Nice tips that applying lemon juice on face for removing dark spots really works but very slowly must have so much patience. Thank you????

    • @ Elizaeth:

After washing off lemon juice from your face wait for half an hour. Try to apply sunscreen on the exposed area before you go out in the sun…

    • @mthokozsi:

Yes, applying lemon juice is a good method to for reducing oil in a face. Here are two simple home remedies:

      (i) Mix one teaspoon of fresh lemon juice with one-half teaspoon of distilled water. Apply it on your skin. Let it stay there on for 10 minutes and then rinse your face with lukewarm water. Lemon juice can dry out your skin, so apply some oil-free moisturizer afterward. Do this once daily.

(ii) Mix one tablespoon of lemon juice, one-half tablespoon of honey and one tablespoon of milk. Apply this mixture on your face, leaving it on for 10 to 15 minutes before rinsing it off with cold water. Do it done once in a day.

Caution: Don’t go out with lemon juice on your skin. You should stay indoor for at least one hour after washing it off.

    • @ mthokozisi:

Yes, you can. But before applying dilute it with a a few drops of water and apply it overnight. Rinse your face in the morning with cool water.

An effective way is to mix equal amounts of lemon juice, rose water and glycerin in an airtight container. Apply daily (overnight) to your face to benefit any skin type. Whether you have dry or oily skin, this lotion will give you radiant and clear skin.

    • @Shaye:

Lemon juice is good for general skin tone, fading dark spots, removing dead skin, etc. I personally used it on a daily basis for 2-3 weeks over-night, as I wanted to diminish dark spots and found it to be effective.

Now the thing is what exactly would you be using this for? If you want to use it on a daily basis use SPF, as the skin gets more sensitive to the Sun if you use lemon juice on your face even if you wash it off. I personally only used it because I was trying to fade dark spots, so I stopped using it once they were faded, but if you’re just using it to attain a better complexion I suggest just use it 2-3 times a week.

    • @ Veroni:

Cut up a lemon, rub it on your skin, let dry for 15 minutes, and then take a shower. Apply this remedy every alternate day.

Although, you can apply lemon juice alone, a better way is to make a mixture of lemon juice, rose water and cucumber juice and rub it on the tanned skin and leave it on for 15-20 minutes. Lemon juice is citric acid that helps remove the tan and the cucumber and rose water are cooling agents. Make sure to massage this mixture gently to remove melanin and take shower thereafter.

You can also mix lemon juice with some organic honey (for getting glowing skin) and rub/massage it on the affected area. It’s one of the best anti tan pack mixtures.

Have patience, you will not get rid of your tan in a week. It will take time – may be a month.

Caution: Don’t go out during day time with lemon juice on your skin. The Sun rays can irritate your skin. Wash it off thoroughly, wait for one hour then go out.

    • @ Neha:

No, don’t use lemon juice alone to remove sun-tan. Use these remedies:

      (i) Honey & lime juice as anti tan: Prepare a mixture of honey and lime juice and apply it on the affected area. Leave the solution on your hand for about 20 minutes. and then rinse it off with cold water. Remember to pat dry the area gently with a cotton towel. Don’t go out with this mixture on your skin, as the sun rays can irritate because of lemon juice on your skin.

(ii) Papaya pulp massage on tanned area: Papaya pulp is another effective ingredient to help remove tan quickly. Massage the Papaya pulp on the affected area for more than 10 minutes and leave it on for another 10-15 minutes. Once you feel that is starting to dry, rinse it off with cold water, and then pat dry the area.

  10. Mam thanx plz can u suggest me product contain benzoyl peroxide and some home remedies that can i use to get ride of pimple in 2 Or3 weeks forever i have oily skin too

  11. Hi, Chandni,

If lemon juice helps me to get rid of melasma, can I start going to the beach and sunbathe again (with sunscreen applied)? Or will it make melasma return?

    • @ Katya:

Sun exposure can cause melasma because the ultraviolet rays affect the cells that control pigment (melanocytes). Vigilant sun protection is actually the best way to prevent melasma as sun is the main trigger for it. When picking a sunscreen, it is important to pick one with the physical blockers, zinc oxide or titanium dioxide, as chemical sunscreens oftentimes are not effective in the prevention of melasma. Even just a few minutes of sun exposure can trigger melasma, so it is important to use a hat, and re-apply sunscreen every two hours and really protect yourself from the sun.

As far as going to beach with sunscreen is concerned, even if a few of the sun rays perforate through the sun screen the melasma may return.

  12. Hi Madam, recently I’m getting tiny bumps and small white pimples.
It turns red and dark after some time.
My skin is sensitive and oily type, I scat maybe because of makeup I used. I need to fade away my marks permanently and need to bright my skin. Please guide me.
    Thank you.

  13. I know it will make skin sore. But if I scrubbed my face every day with lemon and sugar and lemon mask for two days would it remove the tan much faster please?

    • Sugar particles can scrape away dead skin with a relatively gentle touch. Sugar even contains a little glycolic acid, which keeps skin smooth and fights scaling. Brown sugar has smaller grains and plenty of liquid, making it the most gentle option.

    • Squeeze one lemon into a small bowl to prepare enough for one application. Use more or less as needed. Apply the lemon juice to your dark spots using a cotton swab or ball. Rinse after 15 minutes or once the lemon juice dries. Dab your skin dry with a soft towel and apply your favorite moisturizer. Avoid sunlight while the lemon juice is on your skin, as it increases the skin’s sun sensitivity. Use the treatment twice per day. You should see the results in 6 to 8 weeks.
