My lips got super dry and cracked last winter. As I was wearing lipstick almost daily, it deprived my lips of moisture, which aggravated the things further.
To remedy this, I started looking for a lip scrub to remove dead skin. My intention was to scrub my lips to get rid of dry dead skin, and then use a moisturizing lip balm. Out of all, Lush Bubble gum lip scrub attracted my attention the most as its flavor was awfully amazing. But I was stunned to see how expensive it was. So, I decided why not research and make one at home. I hunted online to find out the ingredients used in this lip scrub. I found out that it would need only some sugar, olive oil, bubble-gum flavoring, and some food grade pink coloring (optional).
Next day I collected all the ingredients except Bubblegum Concentrated Flavor Oil, which I ordered online on Amazon. Three days later this little gem arrived, and I was all set to mix up the cute little baby.
Wow, it’s probably one of the easiest DIY beauty recipes that I’ve posted so far. It’s just like mixing up everything in a dish and stir situation and you just need do it all in one small glass bowl. Another thing you would need is a little container, which you can simply close to put it in.
How To Make Bubble Gum Lip Scrub At Home?
To make 10 ml of Bubblegum Lip Scrub, you will need:
(i) Sugar: 1 ½ teaspoon, granulated brown or white sugar that has been ground to a super-fine consistency.
(ii) Olive oil: 1/2 teaspoon, extra virgin
(iii) Honey: a little bit
(iv) Bubble gum flavoring: 1-2 drops
(v) Pink food coloring: 1 drop (optional)
Just toss all the ingredients (except flavoring and coloring) in a small bowl and mix them together until thoroughly combined. The purpose of adding in honey is to stick all the ingredients together a little better. When through, add the flavoring and coloring and stir again to combine completely. Transfer the mixture into a small container, close the lid and store it in cool, darker place.
For using, simply take a tiny amount on your finger and gently scrub it all over your lips for about 30 seconds. Don’t rub too harsh – the objective only is to get rid of the dead dry skin and allow the oil to soften your lips. When through, wipe off the scrub using a damp tissue. If you like, apply some lip balm for super softness or in case you were using this to smooth your lips before applying a lipstick, apply your favorite lip color and you are all set to go!
