Read on here: Is egg white good for wrinkles? And how to use egg white for wrinkles?

As we age, the skin begins to change. Wrinkles and fine lines first start appearing on our hands. Then they begin occurring on our face – around the eyes, mouth & forehead. Then follows the neck, and before we know it, we start looking old. Sigh! As you age, the body begins producing less sebum – the natural oil that moisturizes your skin. Moreover, the fat layer underneath the skin’s surface begins to thin out, and our skin loses its elasticity and firmness. These are the two main factors that cause wrinkles.

There are many over-the-counter products available on the market. They contain ingredients like alpha hydroxy acid, which may effectively decrease wrinkles, but most are expensive, and the effects are usually short-lived.

How You Can Prevent  Wrinkles Naturally?

Luckily, you can prevent wrinkles by using certain effective natural remedies. One such remedy is using egg white, which is popularly known to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

According to Jerome Z. Litt, M.D., assistant clinical professor of dermatology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Egg white contains lots of protein and skin-nourishing ingredients. Hence, it helps tighten the skin to reduce wrinkles.

Why Egg White Reduces Wrinkles And Fine Lines?

Egg white contains protein and certain nutrients that help tighten the skin and firm up its tone. The following properties of egg white make it a beneficial natural remedy to prevent and reduce wrinkles.

(i) Proteins: Egg white is rich in proteins, including full, long-chain amino acids, which help regenerate new skin cells. Protein also helps to tone and firm up the skin.
(ii) Astringent Properties: Due to its potent astringent properties, the egg white helps firm up the skin to make it look tight. The astringent role is naturally shrinking the skin pores to make them appear smaller. While evening out the wrinkles, it also makes your skin look smooth.

(iii) Antioxidant Compounds: Egg whites contain anti-oxidant compounds such as riboflavin, which help in repairing & healing impaired skin cells while preventing cellular deterioration. These antioxidant compounds also fight free radicals and reduce oxidative damage in the skin cells. That leads to the prevention of the early formation of wrinkles & premature skin aging.

Note: No scientific evidence has so far been found proving that an egg white can permanently remove wrinkles. However, many people believe that egg white helps pull the skin in, and so can temporarily reduce the appearance of fine wrinkles.

How To Use Egg White On the Face for Wrinkles?

You can prepare an “Egg White Face Mask For Wrinkles” using only egg white or may mix in other natural astringent anti-aging ingredients, like lemon juice, yogurt, and raw honey.

Recipe: Separate the yolks & the whites of two eggs. Beat the egg whites in a non-metal bowl until you get a uniform frothy concoction. Now mix in any natural astringent of your choice, such as lemon juice, yogurt, or raw honey (optional).

Dip your clean fingers into the foamy mixture and rub it onto your cleansed face. Let the mask dry out for about 30 minutes. Rinse off the mask with cool water, and pat your skin dry with a clean towel. Moisturize as usual, and if you want, apply your makeup before heading out.

Can Egg White Remove Wrinkles Permanently?

Try an egg white facemask on your face & you will find your wrinkles have become less evident, and your skin appears visibly tighter and firmer.
However, its effects are only temporary and, at best, may last only for a day or two.

The “egg white for face wrinkles” remedy is not a permanent solution.

But then you can use an egg white face mask on your face just before an important event or get-together. It will provide a youthful and freshened look to your face that day. After using a facemask, moisturize and apply makeup for a better finish and look.

Otherwise, you can also use egg white facial treatment once or twice a week to prevent premature wrinkles and slow down signs of skin aging.
