You don’t need to spend lots of money to get your feet pedicured. In this article, I am going to share with you a method that will provide you great SPA like feelings while pedicuring in the comfort of your own home for just a fraction of the price.
Actually, this Epsom Salt Pedicuring fluid is better than many brands available in any beauty shop. It will not only perform all the jobs of a good quality pedicure fluid, but will also heal & nourish the skin on your feet.
How to perform an Epsom Salt Pedicure?
You will need:
(i) Epsom salt: ½ to 1 cup
(ii) Water: About 1 tub, (warm water)
(i) Remove the nail polish
(ii) Mix in ½-1 cup of Epsom salt with warm water in a tub. If you like, you may add in a few drops of essential oil(s) or some herbs of your choice (optional). Now your pedicure fluid is ready for use.
(iii) Soak feet for 15 minutes. This will remove the order, freshen you feet and soften the skin & nails, making them ready for the next step.
(iv) Cut & file nails. You can rub a handful of Epsom salt into your wet skin in order to exfoliate the softer skin on your feet. For harder skin, you can use foot file or pumice stone to slough off hard, dead skin from the soles. However, in case the hard skin is too thick, don’t try to eliminate everything at once. Afterwards rinse thoroughly.
(v) If you have time, I suggest soak your feet in Epsom salt solution for another 5 minutes to rinse well the dead cells. If a lot of hard skin is still left on your feet, you may repeat the exfoliation phase.
(vi) Dry your skin thoroughly, including the skin between your toes. Excessive humidity can make your skin more fragile and prone to fungal infection.
(vi) When done, moisturize your skin with an intensive moisturizer such as petroleum jelly.
Note: I prefer to do pedicure in evening, put on a pair of cotton socks (after applying moisturizer), and leave them on overnight to moisturize the skin thoroughly.

If you are short of time or a little bit lazy to follow all the above steps then simply prepare an Epsom salt feet soak by mixing ½-1 cup of Epsom salt with warm or hot water in a tub, and then soak your feet for about ten to fifteen minutes. Even this much process will still provide many benefits due to the absorption of the magnesium & sulfate through the skin.
You can repeat the process twice a month to get the best results.
