Dry Brittle Hair Home Remedies: Having dry brittle hair on the top of your head is an early sign for you to get alert as this means your hair is experiencing a major problem, that will not just stop here and that you are heading towards thinning hair and hair loss.

The moment you notice your hair has become dry, unmanageable or getting thinner than it used to be, follow these home remedies for dry brittle hair immediately, before it’s too late:

1. Avoid getting your hair dry in the first place. In healthy conditions, hair’s moisture content should be approximately 10%. Follow these natural beauty tips to avoid dry hair:

(i) Avoid washing your hair too often. Every alternate day is enough in most cases. Washing takes away natural oils from your hair. Only in case when your hair is super oily, you need to wash your hair every day.

(ii) Avoid too much sun exposure because it can dry your hair and make it even more brittle.

(iii) Avoid too much of coloring, perming or use of heating appliances on your hair.

(iv) Avoid the use of shampoos that contain alkaline or alcohol.

2. To make your dry brittle hair soft, shiny and manageable, apply pure olive oil to your hair. Part your hair into one-inch sections and apply it to your scalp and hair. Cover your head with a towel, and allow the oil to penetrate for 15 minutes. As it may be difficult to remove oil, you may need to shampoo your hair twice.

Alternatively, another best natural beauty tip is to mix six drops each of lavender, bay and sandalwood essential oils with six ounces of warm sesame or soy oil and use this instead of olive oil. You can also use Aragon Oil , Flax Seed or Jojoba oils which are also excellent moisturizers and equally good.

3. You need to add moisture and hydrate the strands of your hair. For this purpose we recommend to use a good quality deep, leave in conditioner. Apply your chosen good quality leave in deep conditioner to each strand of your hair. Let the conditioner to soak in every part of your hair, including the roots and tips. Wrap your head in a warm towel when your hair is fully soaked and let it sit on your hair at least for 20 minutes and rinse it thereafter.

4. Remember Hair is at its most vulnerable stage when it is wet. So avoid combing your hair when it is wet. Combing wet hair causes extreme breakage and split ends. Instead try combing or brushing your hair with your fingers and once your hair are dry then use comb or brush to style your hair.

Follow above home remedies to manage and treat dry brittle hair so as to have manageable, soft and shiny hair.
