Homemade Herbal Hair Wash Shampoo For Hair

Herbal Hair Wash ShampooGirls adore healthy, thick, silky, and shiny hair. But unfortunately, hair starts to weaken prematurely due to stress, poor hair care, and the polluting environment. Hair fall is a widespread problem. Therefore, the girls spend lots of money on hair care products to enhance the life of their hair. Unfortunately, many hair care products available in the market contain chemicals that further damage the hair – so simply a waste of time and money.

I am sharing a simple herbal hair wash shampoo recipe with you that requires only four natural ingredients and is easy to make at home.

Soap Nut (Reetha): Soap nut is loaded with iron. Iron helps maintain hair health. It has antioxidants and is naturally antifungal, antibacterial, allergen-free, and very gentle on the hair, scalp, and skin. People have been using it for cleansing hair for hundreds of years.

Here’s one most important thing you need to be aware of. The beneficial cleansing properties of soap nuts are only present in the nut’s hull (aka husk). The seed, the actual nut itself, has no value to offer!

And this is where you need to beware! Some companies sell whole nuts instead of just usable husks or hulls. So when you buy, keep in mind that only the husk/hull is useable.

Gooseberry (Amala): It contains antioxidants and has antifungal and antiviral properties, which help prevent fungal infections, dandruff and improve scalp health. It also enhances hair’s natural color by preventing premature greying of hair.

Acacia concinna (Shikakai): It provides shine and softness to hair, makes the hair thicker and stronger, slows down greying of hair, and helps treat dandruff.

Fenugreek seeds: They contribute to hair growth and help prevent hair loss.

Use this all-natural herbal shampoo to make your hair strong, long, and thick. This homemade herbal shampoo does not contain any chemicals.

You will need the following ingredients in dried form in about equal quantities:

(i) Soap nuts (Reetha): 100 grams of the outer shells

(ii) Gooseberry (Amala): 100 grams

(iii) Acacia concinna (Shikakai): 100 grams

(iv) Fenugreek seeds (Methi): 100 grams

(i) While making this shampoo, wear hand gloves.

(ii) First, remove the seeds from the soap nuts. Use only the husk/hull part.

(iii) Combine and soak all the ingredients in water overnight. They will soften by the morning.

(iv) In the morning, add enough water. Now boil the mixture on low heat for about 30-40 minutes.

(v) After boiling it properly, remove it from the heat. Keep it aside to cool down. Then mash all the ingredients well to extract all the goodness of the ingredients. Take care to wear gloves while mashing the mixture with your hand to avoid getting black colors stains on your hands. Next, use a muslin or cotton cloth, and while squeezing the pulp completely, strain the mixture. The strained liquid part is the shampoo.

(vi) Voila, your shampoo is ready. You can also make this mixture in a large quantity and use it multiple times. But remember to store it in an airtight glass jar in your fridge or a cool, dark place.

Tip: You can also make dry powder of the above four ingredients, mix and store them in a cool, dark place. Then take out the appropriate quantity of the mixed powder, add water, boil and use it when needed.
