diy honey cinnamon lips scrubIf your lips are chapped, dry and flaky, you can’t make a pretty pout while taking selfie. For a photogenic perfect pout, you need soft and smooth lips! And if you bite your skin to peel it off, that will make your lips even worse. What you need is a lip scrub.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t really like to exfoliate my lips with a market bought lip scrub – as that might contain ingredients that could be toxic or cause allergic reactions (such as fragrances). Not to mention the fact that anything going on your lips could accidentally be ingested through your mouth as well!

How To Make DIY Honey And Cinnamon Lip Scrub At Home?

You can easily make this great tasting honey and cinnamon lip scrub at home using natural ingredients from your pantry. It’s one of my favorites as its coarse texture provides almost instant results, leaving my lips naturally plumper, tasting and smelling awesome.

It contains raw organic honey, so it possesses antibiotic and antiviral properties. Adding this sweet delicious healing prodigy to your lip scrub will help your lips in healing faster; and being a natural humectant, will lock in moisture so that they will stay soft and supple all day long!

The other ingredient cinnamon is such a delicious flavor and scent, and when added to lip scrub it creates a warming sensation that ‘plumps’ the lips!

You will need:

(i) Brown sugar: ¼ cup (you can use regular sugar here, but I prefer brown sugar)

(ii) Coconut oil: 1 tablespoon (this can be substituted with any other oil of your choice such as almond, olive, etc)

(iii) Honey: 1 tablespoon, raw and unfiltered honey (don’t use any sub-standard quality honey)

(iv) Cinnamon: 1 teaspoon, powdered (you can even substitute it with ginger powder, nutmeg, or cloves – depending upon your preference and availability)

Method:

(i) Combine ingredients in a small bowl and transfer to a small jar with a lid. Store in a cool, dark place.

(ii) Rub a little amount onto your lips, using your fingertips in small circular motion for about 1-2 minutes – Gently sloughing off dry, dead skin cells.

(iii) Rinse off with a wet washcloth and enjoy the difference!

(iv) Follow with an oil based lip balm to lock in moisture!

Now pout your lips and take your selfie.
