Natural Beauty Tips:
(i) Before you apply any face mask, make it a habit to remove entire your makeup from your face and cleanse your face with clean water. Better is to take a hot shower or a steam bath to open skin pores.
(ii) Some fruits contain citric acid such as lemon and orange in specific. While using such fruits in a skin treatment, always be careful about how much to use as too much can cause acid burns. Same is the case with essential oils as some of them are very strong, so be careful what and how much to use. When in doubt, do a patch test on a small area of skin like behind the ear. You need to be extra careful if you have sensitive skin.

You can use any of these masks, but don’t need to use it everyday……..
very informative thanks keep it up
Can, and if the banana and all of oil dry skin mask be stored and if so how long is the shelf life and how should it be stored
@ LynDsie:
You should not store masks containing fruits or perishable ingredients. Other masks, you can store in an airtight container at a cool, dark place – like a fridge.
So the mask I just made with the egg honey and coconut oil I can’t store in my fridge? I still have quite a bit of this mask left over, I’d hate to just throw it away
You can store it an air tight container and keep in your refrigerator. You can use it until it starts smelling bad.
I am looking to make a gift for a family member. They love face masks! I need a hydrating face mask that will last longer than most and will not go bad overnight. I know honey won’t go bad, but I dont know what to do. Do you have any suggestions? Am I able to store it in a mason jar? Please help!
@ k
To make a comparatively long lasting homemade effective moisturizer is to use aloe gel or juice along with substances that help the skin retain its moisture. Ideally we need emollients (fill the gaps between skin flakes, helping retain lipids and water – for example a humectants (like food grade glycerine or honey), they bind water. You can also mix in some sweet almond oil. For better hydrating results, apply this concoction on a little wet skin.
