A skin care regime always has three basic essentials of skin care, namely, cleansing, toning and moisturizing. It clearly shows cleansing is one of the most important steps. For proper cleaning of your face, you must first find out your skin type.
This article is about proper cleaning of oily face, including steps, tips & 2 home made facemasks to make oily skin look super clean, young & heathy.
How To Clean Your Oily Face Properly – Steps & Tips!
Oily skin is prone to acne breakouts & pimples. So, oily face requires a special face cleaning regime that is specific to oily skin characteristics.
If you have oily skin that does not mean that you can use soap. This is because soap can strip natural oils off your skin and can also distort its pH level. This explains why the dermatologists always advise for using a gentle face wash.
Steps & Tips For Cleaning Oily Face Effectively
(i) The experts recommend face washes that contain alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) or AHA like citric acid, lactic acid or glycolic acid.
(ii) While cleaning your face NEVER use hot water because it will make your skin extremely dry. You may use lukewarm water – depending upon the weather & your preference.
(iii) After washing your face, pat dry using a soft, clean towel. Because rubbing harshly can damage your soft facial skin tissues.
(iv) If you want to use a cleanser to clean your face, choose products that contain emollients like lanolin or humectants such as glycerin because they are good in holding moisture in the skin.
(v) For pimple or acne prone skin, use medicated cleansers that have, among other things, benzoyl peroxide (exterminates acne-causing bacteria, among other things) or salicylic acid (helps get rid of any swelling).
(v) The experts also recommend for using a toner after cleaning your face. And, if you suffer from skin eruptions, choose a toner that contains AHA.
(vi) The next step is using a good quality moisturizer. Don’t be surprised, even oily skin needs moisturizer. But make sure to use a water-based moisturizer on oily skin.
Face Masks For Effective Cleansing Of Oily Face
To keep your oily face pollutants & impurities free, use a face mask once a week. You may use one of the following two homemade facemasks once a week, rotating them every week.
(a) Tomato Face Pack For Oily Face: Cut a ripe tomato into halves. Mash one of them & strain the puree to separate its juice without the seeds. Soak a cotton pad or ball with juice. Wipe you face with the soaked cotton ball/pad. For additional benefits, add a few drops of raw/organic honey to the juice. Allow the liquid to dry out, and then wash it off.
(b) Banana and Honey Face Mask For Oily Face: A banana and honey mask will help keep your facial skin young & healthy. Put a ripe banana in a blender and add in a tablespoon of raw/organic honey. Apply the mixture on your face and let it stay on for fifteen minutes. Wipe it off your face with a cool cloth. Rinse & pat dry.
Follow the above guidelines & tips & try to clean your face at least twice (morning & night) in a day.
