Do you have problematic dry skin? While washing your dry face you have to be more careful so as not to make your facial skin extra dry by cleaning your face the wrong way. Usually, we do a lot of things to restore hydration to our skin such as using a great moisturizer, keeping away from products with alcohol, and cut down on hot showers. But we forget to use the right way to wash our dry skin face!
Yea! When you have dry skin, you need to wash your face the way that is right for dry skin. Use the wrong way & products and you could be ruining your skin and turning it much more drier.
In this article, you will find how to wash dry face properly, tips and two homemade dry skin face mask recipes to keep dry skin hydrated, soft & healthy.
Use A Hydrating Cleanser
This is the most important aspect of cleaning dry face. Use a hydrating cleanser. Avoid using overly harsh, skin drying cleansers.
If your skin feels extremely tight or itchy after cleansing, then your face wash might be the culprit – stripping moisture/oil off your skin and leaving behind dried out skin. In such a case, you immediately need to switch out your cleanser for one that is specifically made for dry skin types. This simple change might decrease your skin’s dryness immediately. Choose a cleanser that is hydrating and gentle while still effectively able to remove makeup and dirt.
After cleaning your face, pat dry with a soft towel.

Consider Cleansing With Oil
Caution: Do not be confused with the popular oil-cleansing method, because it may not be good for your skin type. Read on for the right way!
Cleansing with oils can be a natural, effective way to take care of dry skin. You need to select an oil (or blend of oils) that does not contain added ingredients, is fragrance-free, and preferably organic. You may also try a blend/combination of your preferred oils – such as jojoba, argan, avocado or sweet almond oil are all excellent options, but you may have to try a few different options before you find the one that is best for your skin.
The actual process is a real breeze: massage the oil gently onto your skin until it has broken down all your makeup. Then wash off with warm water or wipe the oil off with a damp, warm cloth. Remember not to scrub! Try this highly nourishing face cleansing routine. It will leave your skin feeling perfectly cleansed, soft, healthy and well moisturized.
Tip: Coconut oil has hydrating properties & anti-bacterial properties. It’s a great choice. Wash your hands. Take some pure, organic coconut oil in your palm. Rub your palms together to evenly spread the oil and then gently apply the oil on your face. Don’t rub the oil vigorously. Message in circular motions. Rinse the oil off with warm water or wipe the oil off with a wet, warm washcloth.
Don’t Be Scared of Toners.
I have seen many people with dry skin who are afraid of using toners. As a matter of fact, toners provide great benefits even to the dry skin – yep, clearer skin & smaller pores. Moreover, a good toner can help restore skin’s pH balance, while reducing dryness!
Caution: Remember to avoid toners with alcohol content as they are quite drying. Go for a toner that has zero alcohol content (alcohol free).
Simply use the toner on dry skin with a cotton ball after cleansing your face but keep in mind – do it before moisturizing. And then be generous while applying moisturizer on dry skin.

Try one of these two facemasks, at least once a week. They are good for dry skin:
Egg Yolk and Sweet Almond Oil: Mix well 1 egg yolk and some sweet almond oil together. Apply on your face evenly. You may like to mix in a few drops of freshly squeezed lemon so as to get rid of the smell. Let the mask stay on for 15 minutes and then wash off with a gentle face wash. Pat dry your face with a towel & apply moisturizer.
Aloe Vera and Organic Honey: Take two tablespoons of aloe vera gel. Add one teaspoon of organic honey, and mix completely to make a smooth paste. Apply on your face, let it sit on your face for about 30 minutes and wash your face with cool water.
