How To Use It?

Peel and cut a few slices of onion. Squeeze out its juice, either by mashing it or grating it. Apply the juice on your scalp, leaving it on for about 20 minutes to work its magic. Rinse and then wash your hair with a mild herbal shampoo.

2. Lemon juice: It’s rich in vitamin C, vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, folic acid, and other nutrients. Moreover, it’s loaded with antioxidants. So, it not only promotes hair growth, but also makes your hair dandruff-free, look smooth and shiny. Bonus point is that it stimulates circulation and hence prevents hair loss. How To Use It?

(i) Mix one part lemon juice and two parts of coconut or olive oil. Massage it gently on your scalp and hair, leaving it on for about 30 to 45 minutes. Rinse your hair thoroughly, and then wash using a mild herbal shampoo. Use this remedy 1 to 2 times a week.

(ii) Rinse your hair with lemon juice mixed with water, leaving it on for about 30 to 45 minutes. Wash it off with a mild herbal shampoo.

3. Castor Oil:Also known as Arandi oil, it is rich in vitamin E and omega 9 fatty acids – thus facilitates hair growth. This thick oil moisturizes your hair, adds volume, prevents frizzing, and is best to fight scalp infections.

How To Use It?

Experts advise to mix castor oil with an equal amount of a base oil to get a better consistency and enhance the benefits.

Apply castor oil on your scalp and massage it gently. Let it sit on your scalp for about 45 minutes. Finally, rinse it out using water first, and then with a herbal shampoo to get lustrous hair. If it is difficult to remove, use a clarifying shampoo.

4. Eggs: Hair is basically made up of keratin protein.  Eggs are a rich source of high quality protein. Moreover, they are also high in iron, phosphorous, sulphur, selenium, zinc, iron and iodine. These all-essential nutrients along with protein are highly beneficial in helping your hair grow.

How To Use It?

(i) Whisk two egg yolks and mix in two tablespoons of olive oil. Apply and massage the mask gently on to your scalp, leaving it on for about half an hour. Rinse it off with cool water thoroughly and then shampoo your hair as usual with a mild herbal shampoo.

(ii) Separate one egg white in a bowl and add one teaspoon of olive oil (you can also use grape seed oil or lavender oil) and honey. Whisk them all together until you het a paste of uniform consistency. Apply and gently massage it all over your hair and scalp. Let it sit there for about 30 minutes. Rinse it out with cool water, wash you hair using a mild shampoo.

(iii) Mix one egg and one-quarter cup each of plain yogurt and mayonnaise in a blender. Apply this hair mask and cover your hair with a shower cap to avoid mess. Let it stay on for at least half an hour before rinsing it out. Wash your hair as usual with your favorite shampoo.

5. Fenugreek: Also known as methi, it’s considered good for hair-growth because of its rich protein content. Moreover, it contains lecithin that strengthens and moisturizes your hair. This herb is an age-old remedy for hair growth problems, a very good hair conditioner and an anti-dandruff natural remedy. How To Use It?

(i) Soak a cup of fenugreek seeds in water overnight, or at least for four hours. Strain out the water and grind fenugreek seeds into a paste. (ii) Soak and grind fenugreek seeds into a paste as stated above and mix it with coconut oil (or coconut milk). Apply it on your scalp and hair for an hour and wash it out with shampoo.

6. Rosemary: This amazing herb stimulates growth of long hair, strengthens hair roots, and gets rid of dandruff. It contains antioxidant properties that help promote hair growth. Moreover, its sulfur and silica contents help reverse hair loss.

Another property of rosemary is that it helps improve circulation to the scalp, which unclogs hair follicles. Bonus you get is: it can help darken your hair.

How To Use It?

(i) Add 2 drops of rosemary essential oil to 2 tablespoons of a base oil like extra virgin olive, organic coconut, jojoba, almond or avocado oil. Apply it onto your scalp hair and hair. Massage gently for a couple of minutes, and then leaving it on for at least 30 minutes. Rinse your hair with cool water and then shampoo your hair with a mild herbal shampoo.

(ii) You can use rosemary water as a final hair rinse as well. To concoct it, steep 2-3 rosemary sprigs in 2 cups of hot water for about five minutes. 7. Coconut Milk: According to experts, this is the most effective remedy for natural hair growth because of its high vitamins B, C, and E, as well as calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus, selenium, potassium and essential fats.

It’s a good home remedy to nourish your hair, boosts hair growth, and averts hair loss. You can simply include fresh coconut milk in your diet and use these remedies.

How To Use It?

(i) Simply massage your scalp gently with coconut milk. Allow it to sit there for at least 30 minutes and then wash it out with lukewarm water. Repeat it 3-4 times a month.

(ii) Prepare a concoction of 1/4 cup each of coconut milk, wheat germ oil, and aloe vera gel. Massage it gently onto your scalp, leaving it on for about 30 minutes, and then rinse it off. You may then shampoo your hair as usual. All these ingredients promote hair growth, and aloe vera contains an enzyme that decreases hair loss.

(iii) Blend coconut milk with avocado pulp, extra virgin olive oil, and a little honey to prepare a nourishing hair mask.

Natural Beauty Tip: My remedy is to take out fresh coconut milk from a coconut (do not purchase the coconut milk – take it out from a fresh coconut). Mix in freshly squeezed lemon juice from 1/2 lemon, 4 drops of essential lavender oil. Mix the concoction thoroughly and massage it gently on your scalp, leaving it on for 4-5 hours and then rinse it off.

8. Indian Gooseberry (Amla): This magical fruit is a powerhouse of nutrients and loaded with Vitamin C. It helps to accelerate hair growth. It is a great ingredient for the overall health of your hair.

How To Use It?

(i) Put some coconut oil in a pan and add in some dried amla pieces. Cook it on a low heat until the amla pieces are charred. Strain and cool the oil.
