Recipe # 1

You will need:

(i) Freeze dried raspberries: 1/3 cup (Check here current price of freeze dried raspberries)

(ii) Coconut oil: 2 Tablespoons

(iii) Beeswax: 1 Tablespoon

(iv) Lemon essential oil: 3 Drops

(v) Lip balm containers or tubes to store your lip balm (Check here current price of the tubes)

Method

(i) Pulverize the freeze-dried raspberries into a fine powder. They’ll provide delicious flavor plus a fanciful tint to the lip balm. Use a fine mesh strainer to eliminate the seeds to achieve a smooth texture.

(ii) Melt the bees-wax and coconut oil using a double boiler process. Keep stirring constantly to speed up the melting process and combine them together completely.

(iii) Keep the tubes in standing position with caps off so that you can fill them as soon as everything is mixed together.

(iv) Remove the melted bees wax and coconut oil mixture from the heat and mix in well the powdered raspberries and essential oil.

(v) Now fill one tube at a time with the melted mixture using a medicine dropper, quickly but carefully.

Notes:

(i) A little bit of the raspberry fine powder will settle to the bottom of the bowl (and tubes). Make sure that you collect some of the raspberry while drawing the liquid up into the medicine dropper. This way fill up each tube until the entire mixture is used.

(ii) The powder tends to settle to the bottom of the tubes. You can quickly cap each tube after filling & turn them upside down and continue flipping them over in order to achieve an even coloring. And if you prefer ombre look let the powder settle in the tubes a little bit!

Recipe # 2

You will need:

(i) Coconut oil: 2 Tablespoons

(ii) Raspberry gelatin mix: 2 Teaspoons (estimated, it is to add color so you can add less or more) Check here the current price of (Raspberry Gelatin Mix)

(iii) Lemon essential oil: 3-4 drops

(iv) Microwave safe bowl & spoon

(v) Lip balm containers or tubes to store your lip balm (Check here current price of the tubes)

Method:

(i) Put the coconut oil in a microwave safe bowl and place it in the microwave.

(ii) Heat up the coconut oil for about 20 seconds, just enough to get it a little bit melted. Take out the bowl and mix in the raspberry gelatin mix thoroughly.

(iv) Place the bowl again into the microwave for another 20 seconds. This time, it should melt completely & will turn into deep raspberry colored mixture.

Note: Times may vary depending upon the settings of your microwave.

(v) Add in the lemon essential oil and mix thoroughly.

Note: The color you see will be much darker than the final lip balm. Because the coconut oil is fairly transparent in melted form – so, the raspberry gelatin will provide the final lip balm a light color once hardened.

(vi) Now fill (one by one) lip glass container at a time, quickly but carefully, with the melted lip balm and set aside all the containers. You can keep them at room temperate or place them into the refrigerator till it hardens (I prefer the fridge option).
