Is Honey Good For Skin?

Yes, honey on face provides following benefits to your skin:

(i) Honey tenderly takes away dirt and impurities without stripping protective oils from your skin. Foaming cleansers and soaps often strip the skin of these natural oils and instigate the skin to overproduce oil.

(ii) The raw honey has natural antibacterial and probiotic properties that commendably trim down breakouts and averts new acne formation.

(iii) Since it is so mild and nurturing to the skin, it is perfect for very sensitive skin, rosacea, and eczema.

(iv) It works fine on all skin types. It balances oily skin and moisturizes dry skin.

Raw Honey Face Wash For Skin Care

Raw honey is well-known for its natural anti-bacterial properties, enzymes and probiotics, which are very beneficial the skin. This face wash is especially good for acne-prone skin, since it doesn’t strip off moisture from the skin but does reduce oils and bacteria that cause acne breakouts.

Method:

(i) Wet your face with lukewarm water. Put a small amount of honey on palm of your hand (less than a teaspoon is enough) and rub your hands together.

(ii) Massage it in to skin in circular motions all over your face.

(iii) For a deep cleansing of your skin pores, leave it on for about 5-10 minutes (optional).

(iv) Wash it off with lukewarm water and pat dry with a soft towel.

Natural Beauty Tips:

(i) Use Manuka honey or raw organic honey. Although both seem to work very well, but Manuka honey is considered more cleansing and antibacterial as it contains much higher levels of antibacterial properties to heal acne. On the other hand organic raw honey is less expensive, but does a good job as well.

(ii) You can also mix in a tiny bit of vitamin C powder (which is also great for skin) and some essential oils (such as a few drops of lavender and frankincense oils) for extra anti-bacterial and acne fighting power.

Enjoy the clear, smooth skin!
