3 Reasons Why You Should Never Sleep With Makeup

Why to remove makeup at night

Are you a working lady? If yes then after your office you might feel so tired that you just want to go back home and crash into your bed. But beware! Removing your makeup is so important that you cannot afford to miss. Most of us know that sleeping with the makeup is harmful for our skin. But many of us do not know – Why?

Here I am going to explain what happens to our skin when we sleep with our makeup on & how it harms our skin.

Pimples

If we leave the makeup on while sleeping, it mixes with the natural oil that is released by our skin and the grime & dust that have been collected on the skin during the day – leading to clogging of our skin pores. And clogged pores are definitely extremely bad for our skin! Clogged pores are the foremost cause for triggering of the acne breakout & formation of pimples. In many cases pimples & acne can cause skin infections & permanent scarring – which no one likes to have.

Dry and Dull Skin

When makeup is left on our skin over night, it does not let our skin breathe. It acts as a barricade between the environment and our skin. Our skin needs to breathe during the night in order to carry out a very important skin function – that is skin cells repair and regeneration of new skin cells.

Moreover, the makeup if left overnight settles into the fine lines and creases that causes our skin to look dull in the morning.

Makeup Contains Chemicals

We all have different skin types – dry, oily, sensitive, etc. You select make up products depending upon the skin type you have. Whatever may be the kind of makeup you use – whether meant for oily skin, dry skin, sensitive skin or even organic makeup products, they all contain chemicals. These chemicals must not be left on your face throughout the day and then all through the night. These chemicals can obstruct the production of sebum, the naturally occurring moisturizer of your skin – in the absence of which, your skin will become unhealthy and age speedily.
